Junior Culture Club Meeting Features Ecclesiastes Talk
The Junior Culture Club met at Mrs. Cecil Hambright's home on Thursday November 16. Members answered roll call with what they're thankful for. Mrs. Stanley Kvapil presented a program from Ecclesiastes "a time to be born and a time to die" and a discussion on Abortion Pro and Con followed a short film. Hostesses were Mrs. Hambright Mrs. Higgin s and Mrs. Randy Loudermilk. Attendees included Mesdames Sims Smith Scates Russell Rodgers Parramore Kvapil Griffin Davis Cole Busher Browning Blackwood and Miss Nancy Grundy.

Gideon, 73, Winters native dies in Midland hospital
Luther Dudley Gideon, 73, retired farmer and oilfield worker from Winters, died at 8 15 a m Monday in Midland Memorial Hospital after arriving there Sunday during Thanksgiving visit. Funeral held Wednesday at Winters First Baptist Church with burial in Lake View Cemetery. He was born March 17 1899 in Oxford Mississippi and moved to Gorman at 12 then to Poe Community near Winters in 1918. Survivors include wife Margaret two sons Bob Abilene and Wayne Midland a daughter Mrs John Anthis Mineral Wells two sisters Mrs Albert Mansell Fort Worth and Mrs Y M Harris Corpus Christi six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Pallbearers named.
