Wingate residents report injuries and recoveries including Mrs Walker Allen who broke her right shoulder in an August accident. Several locals travel for medical or family reasons, with visitors from California and Colorado City. The 1968-69 school term begins August 26 as families resume routine after summer.
Bobbie Sue Gans daughter of Mr and Mrs Robert R Gans of Borger and former Winters resident married William Lewis Butler ITI in a ceremony at First Methodist Church Borger on Saturday August 24, vows repeated.
The Sawyer family reunion drew 137 relatives and friends to Buffalo Gap on August 17 18 with attendees from Florence Fort Worth Houston Abilene and more. A Borger wedding at First Methodist Borger featured Dr Joe Self Jr officiating and a reception in the Garden Room with a Texas couple Mr and Mrs W L Butler Jr. planning to live in Weatherford Oklahoma after September 5.
The Lutheran Chancel Guild met Thursday at 8:30 PM in the church Fellowship Center. Mrs. L E Jacob gave the devotional titled Gods Waterspouts based on Psalms 42 7. Mrs Ellis Ueckert led the Bible study with members participating. Mrs L R Hoppe presided over a brief business session. Refreshments were served to members by Mrs Jacob and Mrs Ueckert.
Mr and Mrs H O Hubach announce the engagement of their daughter Kathy Ailine to Carl Franklin Young son of Mr and Mrs Fred C Young The wedding is set for Saturday September 14 at 7 pm at Southside Baptist Church Miss Hubach is a 1968 graduate of Winters High School Her fiancé attended Winters High School and works for Armour Packing Company in San Angelo

Mrs D A Dobbins attended the wedding of her granddaughter Mary Lou Snow to Steven Wolfe of New York at 3 pm on Sunday August 25 in Altus Oklahoma. She was accompanied by M L Dobbins Mr and Mrs David Dobbins. Mrs Wolfe is the daughter of Chester and Mary Snow of Altus. She earned a Yale fellowship in September 1966 and is pursuing a chemistry PhD after a master's degree. Mr Wolfe also studies chemistry at Yale.
Mr. and Mrs. T. F. Hantsche spent Friday through Sunday in Arlington and Fort Worth visiting their son Arliss and other relatives. Sunday afternoon they were joined by Mr. and Mrs. A. Y. Hantsche of Loraine.
