W B Overman Dies in Hillsboro Hospital
W B Overman 72 died Friday August 18 at 6 20 p m in Hillsboro Hospital after a months long illness. Funeral services were held Sunday at Spill Memorial Chapel with Rev Robert L Denton and Rev Virgil James officiating. Burial in Fairview Cemetery. Born November 27 1894 at Penelope he moved to Runnels County with his parents and married Josephine Miller June 29 1913.

Winters Independent Schools presents a two day menu for August 31 and September 1. The items include chicken fried steak with gravy and whipped potatoes on August 31 with green beans peaches rolls and ice cream. On September 1 the choice is hamburgers or pepperoni cheese sandwiches with tomatoes French fries ketchup strawberry congealed salad and cake with milk.
Overman Rites Noted for Itasca Resident
The obituary notes the late resident lived in the Itasca area since 1946 after moving from Hillsboro and belonged to Central Baptist Church. Survivors include wife, a son J. D. Overman of Hillsboro, grandson James Anthony Overman, two brothers Charlie Overman Wilmeth Community and E. D. Overman Whitney, and sister Mrs W L Wright Las Cruces New Mexico. Nephews served as pallbearers.

Texas voters face a constitutional amendment allowing non elective state officers and employees to hold other non elective offices until Sept 1 1969 and thereafter only if authorized by the Legislature with no conflict of interest.
