Sylvia Young to Receive Bachelor of Science at ACC

Abilene Christian College senior Sylvia Young of Winters will earn a BS in marketing at ACC summer commencement on August 21. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy E. Young and has been active in the Business Administration Club and Delta Theta. Commencement speaker will be A. V. Isbell, president of Southwestern Christian College.

Aged Winters Resident Howard Baldwin Dies

Howard Baldwin 79, longtime Runnels County resident, died Sunday at Winters Municipal Hospital after nine years of ill health and a ten day serious illness. Born November 10, 1879 in Navarro County, he lived in Erath, Bronte, and later Winters where he ran a grocery with relatives, served as city alderman and hospital board member, and taught at the Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife Mae Cox, one son Coy, four daughters, three stepchildren, two brothers, ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday at the First Methodist Church with burial in Fairview Cemetery.
