State higher education panel funds growth while cutting questionable courses
The Texas Commission on Higher Education approved 3.98 million dollars to help enrollments rise in 20 state supported senior colleges. It also motioned to drop funding for courses deemed nonessential such as travel, work experience, social or self improvement offerings, and remedial high school level classes not earning college credit. Judge Blocks First Injunction On Small Loan Act
Fifty third District Judge Herman Jones halted the initial state bid to enforce the new small loan act against E L Parker operator of an Austin liquor store. Mis kell alleged Parker charged over ten percent without a required license. The Texas Supreme Court struck down a landowner right of way in a dispute involving Wilmer Cleghorn and the Waggoner Ranch.
