Crawford Died Monday In Hospital Here

Olin Leroy Cranford 55 of Wingate died at North Runnels Hospital at 11 15 p m Monday after months of illness. Funeral 2 30 p m Wednesday at Spill Memorial Chapel. Burial Wingate Cemetery. Born March 1 1917 in Mason he moved to Runnels County 1930s and later lived in Odessa before returning to Wingate. He married Ola Dell Adcock in 1936 and was a Church of Christ member. Survivors: wife, parents Mr and Mrs Tom Crawford Winters one daughter Jo Ann Scott Wingate three grandchildren one sister Mrs Mary Ruth Merrill Winters two brothers Thomas Midland and W H Boots Hamlin.

Den Dieters Club Elects Officers for Week

The Den Dieters Club elected officers at the Monday meeting. Mrs. Bill Webb is president, Mrs. Charles Kruse vice president, Mrs. C. R. Pinkerton weight recorder, Mrs. Pearl Dunnam treasurer, and Mrs. Paul Gerhardt secretary-reporter. The group votes to meet Mondays at 6 pm and Kruse was crowned queen of the week with a contest planned to end May 15. Members present included Mesdames Carl Pendergrass D W Williams Oval King and Milt Bunger.

The Blue Jay girls little league basketball team was honored with a Coke party at the home of Mrs. James DeBerry on Monday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs H F Bredemeyer 50th Anniversary Honor

Mr and Mrs H F Slim Bredemeyer will be honored at a reception on Sunday April 16 at their home for their 50th wedding anniversary. Their children host the event and invite friends and relatives to call between two and five in the afternoon. The family requests no gifts. Thomasson R A Former Resident Dies At Everman

Richard A. Thomasson 77 of Everman formerly Winters resident died March 21 at Forrest Hill Nursing Home after a six week illness. Funeral March 23 at Everman Church of Christ with ministers officiating. Buried Everman Cemetery. Born March 27 1894 in Montgomery County he moved to Runnels County in 1900. Married Nettie Crowson January 10 1915. Survived by wife son J R Thomasson sister Mattie Smith seven great granddaughters.

WSCS Meeting at First United Methodist Church

The Women's Society of Christian Service met in the sanctuary at 10 a.m. Reverend Bob Sanders led prayer, president Mrs. M. L. Dobbins presided, and guest speaker Mrs. Dale Carter spoke about 15 years in Corrente Brazil with her husband. Guest registration listed 15 attendees and a covered dish luncheon followed for 26 members and guests.

The Wingate Sew and Sew Club gathered at the Baptist Church with Grace Smith as hostess. Members and four visitors attended and quilting was done for the hostess. The next meeting is set for April 11 at the Methodist Church with Minnie Williams hosting.
