Colonel William Boyce Thompson, 61, famed mining investor and philanthropist, died at his Yonkers home after a four year invalid period and recent pneumonia. He built copper ventures in Montana diamonds in Africa and sulphur in Texas and served as a director of the Federal Bank of New York from 1914 to 1919. His wife Gertrude Hickman Thompson and daughter Margaret Schulze were with him. brother J Edward Thompson traveled from Phoenix. He funded Exeter with a $1,000,000 gift.
