Cattle and hog prices mixed across Chicago Omaha and Kansas City markets. Yearlings and medium weights rose slightly while weighty steers and fat cows moved unevenly with gains/ex reductions noted. Hogs remained generally steady with moderate bids. lambs and sheep showed softer demand and varied quotes across regions.
Cattle week 5200 head, steady to 25c lower with fed yearling steers 7.85-8.25, bulk fed steers 6.75-7.75, grassers 5.00-6.50, Mexicans 4.75-5.10, fed yearling heifers 8.25, cows 4.50-4.75, bulls 4.50 down. Calves 1900 head, 25-50c lower. weaners 7.50-9.50. Sheep 4800 head, lambs 4.25-8.55, common down to 5.85, ewes 0.65-2.50. Hogs week 800, top 7.25, closing top 7.06, locals 5.50-6.75.
