Lima reports a failed bid to topple President Sanchez Cerro with about 60 civilians and armed forces attacking the palace at 4 am. Troops pursued them to Callao where they barricaded in Real Felipe fort as a siege began. The government vowed harsh punishment and reconstruction would continue.
Wilmington reports Mrs. Eugene E. Dupont 45 found dead in her Greenville studio after her car remained running in the attached garage. Police say monoxide fumes caused death. her husband, a DuPont director, discovered the scene and she died about two hours earlier. he faced near-suffocation upon opening the garage.
Arizona Tax Commission members travel to Globe to hear the Gila county board of supervisors request to incur an indebtedness of 52140.09 for public improvements aimed at alleviating unemployment.
