In Phoenix on February 10, Representative H. J. Valentine introduced a bill urged by Governor Hunt to abolish the Fish and Game Commission and establish a single commissioner. The plan repeals the 1929 code, sets a $3,000 salary for the commissioner, who would be governor appointed for an indefinite term. The commissioner would appoint a state game and fish warden as secretary at up to $3,600 and the warden could appoint deputy wardens.
Major General Clarence R. Edwards remained in an extremely weak condition at the Phillips house after a restless night. He took a small amount of nourishment this morning but showed little improvement. Edwards has been a patient there since January 15 following emergency intestinal surgery.
Chicago Feb 10 Mrs Dorothy Linn McCormick wins a divorce listing three alleged cruelties. Cyrus McCormick Jr vice president of International Harvester and grandson of founder Cyrus McCormick did not contest the suit and is en route to Europe.

Washington reports the Colorado river basin states and Secretary Wilbur will be paid tribute at Boulder City naming streets and a square. The Bureau of Reclamation released the plan for the model town where hundreds of workers on the $165,000,000 Boulder Canyon project will live. The 25 streets and boulevards are shown in the plan.
In Brownwood Texas two young children died and others in the Jones family were seriously ill after eating tainted breakfast bread. Lonnie Jones a 40 year old tenant farmer and his family of seven consumed the food at home, triggering a poisoning incident. Authorities described the bread as poisoned and ongoing investigations focused on the motive and source.
Captain Thomas J. Maggenn known as the Poet of the Pacific and veteran skipper died in San Francisco at 72 after several weeks illness. Harvard professor hailed him as the Poet-Maximus and President Roosevelt praised his sea poems. He once sailed with Roosevelt.
The Treasury barred lumber and pulp wood from four Russian localities from entering the United States unless shippers prove products are not made with convict labor.

Daisy DeVoe former secretary to actress Clara Bow was granted probation by Judge William Doran. She will spend 18 months in county jail and the remaining 3 years under county supervision after pleading guilty to stealing 3825 from Clara Bow’s associate. The motion to withdraw probation was denied.
Red Cross relief continued in drought ravaged Arkansas as the State Senate backed a federal 20 million dollar fund amid mixed reactions from lawmakers. Will Rogers appearances boosted the Red Cross drive by 10 thousand dollars. In Winslow, Santa Fe Railway officials head a fight to halt paving district six, pushing to block bids as Los Angeles headquarters reportedly ordered the move. City bids for forty nine and a half blocks were opened January 26 with six proposals and a 15 day window to finalize action.

A former Chicago policeman now in Phoenix for health reasons alerted authorities, leading to the arrest of two men, Louis Franks and Ray Wagner, in a Phoe nix cottage on the outskirts. Police label Wagner a St. Louis gunman and Franks an alleged bootlegger, with the pair jailed on kidnapping connections.
In St Louis on February 10 gunmen opened fire at a north Taylor Avenue saloon killing Bessie Lymann 30 and Dorothy Evans 37. Wounded critically was William Goebel brother of the late gangster Dewey Goebel. Four suspects were detained for questioning.

In Saigon on February 10 a police inspector was fatally wounded while trying to disperse an open air protest meeting. The assailant was identified as a Communist demonstrator during the clash that followed.
