Natural gas caused an explosion at the old First Congregational church in Toledo Ohio killing two people and seriously injuring a third. The blast caused about 150000 dollars in damages. The deceased are Katherine Wilt 38 Clyde Wilt 40 and Mary Fitzgerald 33 who was hospitalized with serious burns.
Captain George Hubert Wilkins leaves Detroit with two planes for a long polar voyage to map 800000 square miles north of Alaska. Carl B. Eielson joins Seattle crew, planes to Fairbanks for tests, aim to reach Point Barrow 600 miles north.
