Two Men Killed by Santa Fe Train East of Flagstaff
Two men were killed instantly by Santa Fe No 8 eastbound near Cosnino about 12 miles east of Flagstaff. One is identified as Reyes Gonzales of Cosmino, a Santa Fe trackwalker with a widow and three children. the other man’s identity was not determined. They were watching a westbound freight when struck on a snake curve. witnesses saw them about forty feet apart. Conductor George Sutherland and Brakeman Frank Hughes found the scene after the train halted. Engineer H Q Perkins stopped the train promptly, aided by Fireman McClintock.
