The Missouri and Kansas Bridge near Leavenworth sold at auction for 610000 to Simon Stern for Emanuel L. Riser of New York. The master commissioner noted no other bids after the upset price was set. The bridge crosses the Missouri River two miles north of Leavenworth and connects into the Fort Leavenworth reservation. Built in 1676, the structure carries a long history with scant current details remaining.
