Operations Suspended as Colorado Silver Mines Close

Colorado mine owners resolve to stop silver production due to low prices. Silver Mining Stocks Crash Marketwide

The June downturn in silver prices crushed mining stocks led by Mollie Gibson, plunging from 7.75 to 1.53 and signaling a possible fall below 1. Silver bullion prices slip in New York and London

The Post reports silver bullion fell to 81d per ounce in London and 62c in New York, down 612 cents since Wednesday and about 20 cents for the week. Trading on the stock exchange shows a drop in certificate sales as exporters buy when prices dip below open market, with 195,000 ounces sold midweek, near the full stock on deposit against certificates.
