Powderly warns Knights of Labor against infiltration in 1890s circular

A Philadelphia issued secret circular attributed to Grand Master Powderly urges members to guard against employers using trusted men to infiltrate the Knights of Labor. The letter warns delegates to Richmond to prioritize honest, loyal knights, resisting political manipulation and radical action while safeguarding the order's future.

Ohio Supreme Court Clears Hamilton County Seat Dispute

The Ohio Supreme Court upheld Senate action ousting four Hamilton County Democratic senators and validated laws enacted afterward, including the Dow liquor tax and district reapportionment. It also confirmed Governor Foraker's new board of public affairs and ordered the old board to surrender records. In Cleveland the liquor tax stance eased saloon resistance. Extradition Bill Signed By Governor Hill

A new extradition law takes effect immediately. It bars removal of fugitives from this state without a proper requisition and makes aiding such removal a felony. The measure amends chapter 1 title 4 part 6 of the criminal procedure code.
