German Day at the Chicago Exposition Draws Largest Crowd

The German day celebration at the Chicago World’s Fair attracted an immense crowd with visitors from Indiana and Arkansas dedicating their state buildings. Emperor William’s presence was felt in the festivities as German bands led parades, calisthenics by German schoolchildren on the stock pavilion, and a grand fireworks display end to a successful fete.
