John Q. A. Libbey and Laura A. Libbey as executor and executrix sue Charles H. Comstock, former partner of Daniel Libbey, in the Maple City Chair company to compel an accounting of $12,000 stock and books. A receiver is also sought for the company.
The first annual freshmen eight contest between Cornell and Pennsylvania at Cayuga Lake covered 2 miles. Cornell won by nine lengths in 1 minute 18 and 5 seconds. Ex-Congressman Simpson to address the State Farmers Alliance at Sioux Falls on June 25.

He-MING Minn June 15. The worst storm ever known swept Folden Effington and Parkers Prairie townships. It covered ground with hail four to five feet deep, carving a three mile wide swath through the best farming area, destroying crops and injuring livestock. In Liberty Missouri on June 15 Judge Broaddus of the circuit court decided in the case C A Stavensa versus the directors of the Old Kansas City Safe Deposit and Savings Bank that attachments on by depositors on the property of the bank directors are invalid. About a thousand depositors holding claims against the bank thus have their recourse at law.
Captain Hanter commanding a cutter fleet in the Behring Sea reports to the treasury department that rising northward movement has diminished. He attributes the scarcity to indiscriminate slaughter in the last two to three years, warning of reduced numbers.
The Thea Hubinger Carro Cash Register company has applied for a receiver and Judge Prentice in the superior court grants the petition. The company is the only one outside the National Cash Register company combine. Assets total $34,000 with liabilities stated as zero, to be paid dollar for dollar.

Dr Todd of Abbeyville Ohio at 89, a brother-in-law of the late President Abraham Lincoln, has gone blind. He served as a surgeon in the Confederate army under Longstreet and Gaines during the Civil War while his brother was President of the United States.
Well drillers at Calvary cemetery Fond du Lac Wisconsin struck a vein of copper about 100 feet deep. Large chunks of pure ore have been brought to the surface and drawn many visitors to the cemetery. Similar deposits have been discovered nearby and reported.
Four people drowned about a mile up the St Louis river when a sailboat capsized in a sudden squall. One boat man and three others, a father and two sons, perished. Names not yet learned. The incident was reported to police headquarters.
