Washington June 7 All interest centers on the St Louis convention as legislation in the house and senate absorbs hours spent reading bulletins. Bulletins are posted at the capitol galleries and corridors for easy access. Gen Sheridan, whose condition shows improvement, asks that bulletins be sent to his bedside.
In Owatonna Minnesota on June 1 over 5,000 people gathered as about 2,000 veterans filled the grandstand and surrounding grounds. Mayor Gutterson welcomed them during a Department Chaplain led prayer. The day centered on a speech by Commander-in-Chief with 41 posts represented and about 1,200 veterans present in the armory site later. Governor’s Day marked the ceremonies.
