Harvard Hotel Fire Kills Seven Lodgers in Minneapolis

A blaze at the Harvard hotel on Washington Avenue South trapped lodgers as they slept around 2 AM. Seven men died from suffocation, with nineteen escaping through thick smoke. The fire started in a rear store area with kerosene nearby, making the incident one of Minneapolis's worst fires.

John O Sims secretary of the Pennsylvania Railway died at 1 30 pm at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital after an appendicitis operation on December 11. He contracted a heart failure and died following complications. His family was at his bedside.
