N. and G Tailor to Build World Scale Tin Plate Plant

Philadelphia reports that the N and G Tailor company plans a new tin plate factory in the city. When finished it will be the largest of its kind in the country perhaps the world. The project includes twelve stacks and an output capacity of 600 boxes daily by early April. The existing plant has only three stacks.

Washburn Denies Interview About Blaine Presidential Bid

Senator Washburn arrived from Washington and denied a Boston paper interview claiming Blaine would accept the Republican nomination in 1893. He said he first read the story in the New York Sun and called it manufactured. He noted he has not spoken with a newspaper man and has no denial to issue. He added Blaine would accept if the party desires and his health remains strong.

Relief Movement for Destitute Reaches Proportions

St Paul December 30 The Minnesota initiated relief drive for Russian suffering has grown rapidly. It has spread to other states and reached the national capital, drawing attention from governors officials and the public. The fund in Minnesota alone is sure to exceed 10000 in cash and donations of grain and flour may total about 6000000 pounds with 1500000 already secured.

Moonshiners Kill Officers in Tennessee Battle

In De Kalb county Alabama on Sand Mountain near Fort Payne a clash erupts between 12 deputy U S marshals led by Deputy Robert Charleson and moon shiners at a fortified distillery. More than 100 shots fired. two moon shiners Kirk and Sprouse die and Deputy Jackson is fatally wounded. Officers plan to return with dynamite to blow the distillery.

Three Dead After Tennessee Family Feud Over Woman

In Nash ville Tennessee on December 30 a fatal dispute over a woman left Marion Beatty Dave Beatty and Gwin Bowden dead. Edward Harris, the alleged killer, fled with a $500 reward for capture and delivery at Jamestown. A quarrel between Mary Beatty and her father led to the confrontation. Mary had left home to live with Harris. Harris admonished, then shot the Beattys and Bowden.

Double Murder Near Wilburton Spurred Arrest at South McAlester

Reports detail the fatal killings of two men near Wilburton in the Choc taw nation. George L. Longley was arrested in South McAlester while trying to sell a wagon and team, jailed without substantive remarks. Nearby reports cover horse thefts in Yellowstone country, a Reading railroad wreck near Reading, and other 1891 notices.
