A basement fire at 104 Madison street in Cleveland sparked a massive explosion of natural gas. The blast injured 23 people, only one seriously, as crowds fled and a panic spread through Massey's billiard parlors. The six story building burned rapidly. loss estimated at 125000 dollars.
