Searchers Locate the Bodies but Are Unable to Remove Them

A mine disaster leaves about 43 workers dead after a dynamite blast wrecks cars and timber. Of 67 men who descended to recover bodies, 24 returned by 11 this morning while the rest remain entombed amid afterdamp. The victims include several negroes and foreigners among North Carolinians.

Court of Appeals Upsets Wiman Graft Conviction

Marquise Sacrapanti, pope’s messenger, delivered the items in full uniform. Dan Curran and Minnie Taft went to Milwaukee government breakwater at midnight and took a large dose of morphine to die together. Found unconscious next morning Curran nearly recovered. doctors say he will live but the girl has little hope of recovery.

In Terre Haute Indiana on December 20 Eugene V. Debs longtime grand secretary of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen attended a meeting and withdrew from the organization. The move came amid growing hostility between the Brotherhood and the rival American Railway union and Debs was widely anticipated to leave the group.
