Ex secretary Daniel Manning is reported critically ill in Albany at his son's residence. Dr. Hunt remains non committal though Manning showed a little better today. Family silent, physicians say no immediate danger of death, but recurrence of last year’s stroke is feared.
HiInaton Dec 20 Merchants may keep envelopes and wrappers printed with ads for third class mail as a ban on them is eased a bill to allow any content not personal writing on such envelopes will be introduced by Mr Hunt in Congress. Congress is unlikely to object. Washington Dec 20 A government railway commission report on Pacific railroads faces pigeonhole in Fiftieth Congress. Rail firms fear party loses if the report is approved or rejected by the House before next year.
