Washington December 7 Secretary Carlisle is to be invited to address the House Banking and Currency Committee to present views on his financial plan. A hearing will precede drafting a bill, with leaders predicting House passage but doubt in the Senate.

Entire Day in the House Over Pooling Bill

Pettigrew Charges Interior with Cruelty to Indians

Senator Pettigrew told the Senate Indian Affairs Committee that the Interior Department mistreated Lower Brule Indians of South Dakota by removing 100 from their homes to an agency and confining them in tents on the prairie where 26 died. He urged halting the plan to subject the entire tribe to similar treatment. Also, a brief Senate session adjourned after West’s cloture proposal did not advance.

Cincinnati Thief Robs Teacher of 10500 Cash

Miss Josephine Brand of Lawrenceburg Indiana, a teacher, was robbed on Cincinnati streets near dusk of a satchel containing 10500 dollars in cash, authorities report. The incident occurred in Cincinnati on December 7.

Minneapolis Mills Last Week Ground Nearly 300,000 Barrels

The Northwestern Miller reports Minneapolis mills produced 294,290 barrels of flour last week, surpassing prior totals. Pillsbury mills produced 122,483 barrels, Washburn heavy as six fewer mills operated. Output expected to dip over 100,000 barrels as many mills close for the season amid weak demand and freight pressures.

Texas Train Robbers Steal Over $100000 At Trellis Wind

Eastbound Texas passenger train halted seven miles west of Fort Worth on a trestle. Three masked men with guns robbed the express car, fired shots, and forced engineer and crew to move the train back over the trestle. Passengers hid valuables. booty believed over $100,000 with gold certificates totaling $31,000 among the plunder. Division Superintendent J. B. Paul aboard.
