Eastern Minnesota Railway case quashed opposition to charter

In St Paul on December 7 Attorney General Clapp denied the writ of quo warranto against the Eastern Minnesota Railway company. The Northern Pacific pressed the challenge via J O Bulitt Jr while Grover and Judge Young argued for the Eastern. The dispute hinges on whether the 1865 act creating the old Minneapolis and St Cloud Railway was special legislation or an amendatory framework allowing a legal existence for the Eastern company.

English capital to invest in American railways

Knights and Farmers Seek Federation for Joint Interests

In St Louis a federation basis was agreed between the Knights of Labor and the Farmers and Laborers union. Each will appoint legislative committees to push aligned laws, form a central council, consolidate farmer bodies, and develop joint platforms on land money and transport with leaders hopeful about the accord. Fears Of Duburg Lost After Typhoon Passage From Singapore
