The Baby's Romance Left on Doorstep in Atlanta

In Atlanta Georgia a newborn found abandoned on a doorstep in March was drugged to quiet cries and sent to a hospital where it was christened Central Ivy. An elderly woman admitted for admission upon a deathbed revealed she was the mother, as did a young dressmaker, Tillie Pearson, her daughter. Weeks later Oscar T Waters, a cotton buyer, found the fugitive girl and married her. the couple acknowledged the child as theirs.
