STILLWATER Minn April 11 Attorneys say Washington county v Bristol estate on taxes valued at 65000 has been decided by the United States Supreme Court The court held the statute of limitations voids taxes from 1888 to 1888 while the county is awarded judgment for the remaining amount though the final figure is not specified in the readable text
The decision centers on about $35,000 in taxes levied on moneys loaned for an estate. Officials say the ruling holds significance for local and regional governments and could affect tax policy moving forward.
The Washington supreme court ruled in favor of the Minnesota Iron company against Thomas W. Hyde over an iron location on the Vermillion range. Admiral Dewey says a New York newspaper report that he will withdraw is a mistake and he has not told anyone of such plans. The dispatch claims his brother in law John R. McLean organized the move and that he consulted with Democratic leaders and anti McKinley voices before deciding against leaving the contest.

Argument opened in the U S Supreme Court over bounty claims for the destruction of the Spanish fleet at Manila. The case appeals from the Court of Claims which awarded $100 to each sailor and $9590 to Admiral Dewey, with a request for double the total amount.
