Dennis Hybrids, the oldest seed corn business in Indiana near Windfall, celebrates 46 years of operations. Founded 1925 by Albert Dennis, the firm expanded from field crops to hybrid corn, with Wayne Dennis and Bill Dennis leading a multi-man partnership. The operation spans 790 acres with 1500000 dollars in buildings and equipment, employing about 100 workers to harvest and process 40000 bushels of corn a season. The plant features holding, sorting, drying, shelter, and cleaner facilities, plus a half mile grass airstrip used by a four-seater Bonanza plane. Wayne and Bill are licensed pilots, boosting efficiency across a five-state radius.
