In a special session led by President Krebs the outgoing council wound up affairs. The June treasurer report showed cash on hand of 6042.64 and a year end balance of 6855.86. The Finance Committee announced the destruction of a 4000 bond pile and a redeemed 100 bond. Hen sell noted destroying 30000 worth of vouchers the prior night. Firemen to Tour Winchester in July Trip
The First Hose Company will meet Friday evening to hear a committee report and finalize Winchester trip plans. A Junior Fire Company band will accompany the group, and the Friends, of Chambersburg, will travel to Winchester July 8 in a special car passing Hagerstown at 10 05. Citizens expect to see the boys win a prize in the drill contest, a sight not seen locally since 1894 under drill-master George W Pensinger.

Union Engine House To Open For Public Inspection
The Union Engine House is expected to open Monday night for public inspection and to welcome visiting firemen during the convention. Lighting with electricity is not yet arranged as it proved impracticable. A meeting is held Friday evening, possibly in the upper hall, but more likely downstairs with a possible Monday reschedule.

The Sunday School Convention and Epworth League Conference of the M E Church South will convene in Charlestown on Tuesday July 6. Accident at Capon Bridge injures driver Lem Lafollette
Lem Lafollette of Capon, driver for John Oats six mule team, was seriously injured at Capon Bridge when the wagon’s double-tree heated and the team started. He fell as the wheels passed over his leg. the leg was badly crushed but no bones were broken. The wagon carried a load of 63 hundredweight.
