Friendship Fire Company Holds Orderly Meeting Vote on Arch Abandoned
About fifty members attended as Captain James M. Haymaker opened the session. The arch project on Main and Water streets was dropped, painting work for the engine house speeded, and 51 new Association names were added with June 10th as the extension date. The company will attend Rev. Eugene Jackson's Sunday service at 8 o'clock ready for the sermon Readiness.

Winchester Hosts First Hose Company Visit Report
Representatives from the First Hose Company of Hagerstown visited Winchester on Tuesday. The welcome committee housed them at Taylor House and arranged a seminary site for the unit with summer homes on the lawn to accommodate about 100 men. Visitors praised Winchester hospitality, noted low hotel rates, and expected about twenty-two companies to attend, with Roanoke Altoona Winston Salem and many from Hagerstown expected to participate.

Death of Mrs Shiner in Neffstown
Mrs Hannah Shiner wife of John W Shiner died at her Neffstown home this morning around 5 o clock from pneumonia and heart trouble at age 55. She recently fell ill last Wednesday week leaving four sons James Front Royal Wesley Edward and William at home. Funeral Sunday at 2 PM from the late residence with community sympathy offered.
