Pleasant Social Events Honor Mrs Lupton's Birthday
A bright party at Mrs Annie Lupton’s West Amherst Street home honored her daughter Elizabeth. About seventy five guests from nearby towns attended. Prizes included a ring a needle and a small wood piece from the birthday cake. Music and games enlivened the evening with solos by Prof Harry H Homer and piano pieces by several young ladies. A surprise party for Miss Lillie Maphis and another gathering at South Kent Street also provided entertainment and supper.

Babe abandoned on Leicester street dies after hours
A nearly newborn girl infant was found on Leicester street at 9 30 by Charles Henry. The baby was taken to Martha Henry and cared for overnight but died around noon, amid suspicion of drugging. Officer Seabright was notified and authorities investigated the neglectful act.

Rocket misfire disrupts Mora Comedy display on Majin Street
At 12 05 today a Mora Comedy Company representative fired a sky rocket from Majin street near the Court House. Instead of rising, the rocket arced backward and tore holes in Mr. T J Shaw Sloane's awning. The 12 admission tickets scattered but were quickly collected.
