At a last night call meeting the company 89 voted to ban all games in the Friendship House engine room. A committee was formed to investigate a Sunday afternoon fight between two youths and expelled members may result.
Thomas C Earnshaw 50 a Charlestown resident died at his home Sunday night from paralysis after months of poor health. Longtime in the tin and stove trade he helped run Earnshaw & Dooley until the partnership dissolved recently. He leaves a widow and two children.
The town clock runs irregularly causing trains to be missed or missed connections. It may be four hours out or four minutes late or early, creating widespread inconvenience for those depending on the clock for standard time. A fix is needed to align with standard time.

Two young men on Bufflick road near Winchester paraded as vigilantes to catch a poultry thief. A fake dead body tied to a dummy lured them to fire at it, causing a chaotic rush before the ruse was revealed and they learned they had killed no person.
Senator Jas McCune introduces a measure to protect female boarding schools and inmates, claiming support from valley principals and girls institutes. He says letters from Valley girls’ schools urge enactment while some young men provoke girls by lingering on street corners.
The county clerk displays the marriage register in view as three more pairs obtain licenses this morning. Luther Baker wed Miss Jessie Boyd, Robt B Owens weds Miss Nettie B Markle, and Wm C Lockhart marries Miss Bessie B Whitacre, all of the county.
William Ramer, a 45-year-old freight conductor for the Cumberland Valley Railroad, was killed at Bridgeport Maryland after jumping from a moving engine and being struck. He resided in Martinsburg and leaves a widow and two children. Remains were sent to Martinsburg for interment. Ramer was a well known Cumberland Valley employee in Winchester and Martinsburg.

Capt Geo H Baker of Hampshire County West Virginia died last week. He led a company in the Seventh Virginia Confederate Cavalry and was honored for bravery near the close of the war.
