The 90 year old Mrs Nancy A McKinley has suffered paralysis and poor nourishment for nine days. She remains conscious only briefly and shows remarkable vigor despite the prolonged illness.
Senator Hanna fell ill suddenly at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York after arriving from Washington yesterday afternoon. He appeared fatigued from travel and was accompanied by his two daughters.
Ex President Cleveland arrived in Washington yesterday afternoon in a special Pullman car Davy Crockett attached to the west bound Pennsylvania Railroad train. He is en route for a hunting trip in South Carolina.
Misses Bessie and Essie Argen of Stephens City spent the day in Winchester with friends. Mr Albert Powell returned to Pittsburg today after several days in Winchester.
Caulkers labored until two in the morning connecting new and old pipes on Cork street. A deep trench was dug and an electric light lowered for access, with 25 to 30 men tamping the trench by midnight and a festive atmosphere noted. Work continues toward the south as broken stone is laid and plans call for rolling next Mon or Tue with blasting anticipated along Cork to Leicester street.

A South End Hall program titled Mysteries of the Gramophone wowed a small, appreciative crowd last night. Robert Haymaker operated the gramophone, delivering songs, choruses, preaching, solos, and other pieces, with distant voices felt in the room. Tonight’s repeat performance asks for a larger turnout and ten cent admission.
Miss Cornelia Billings who died in Grand Rapids Michigan was laid to rest yesterday at 3 PM from Loudoun Street Presbyterian Church. Reverends H M White J R Graham A C Hopkins of Charles Town and W A Crawford of Kernstown officiated with pallbearers H R Aapton T N Aapton J W Russell Jas B Russell P W Boyd Holmes Boyd Jonah Cather Gratton Crawford.
Rev. S. D. Skelton, pastor of the U B Church, was the recipient of a pound party yesterday. Members of the Pleasant Valley Church visited his Market Street home to show affection and good will.
The Wm. C. Gratchen Glove Co. is widening its plant to handle fall orders and adding workers daily. Its products enjoy wide national reputation and are gaining traction in New York City, a key market for manufacturers.
Mrs Alice M Jackson died at her mother’s residence at Jack son’s Dam early this morning. She was a daughter of the late Fenton Jackson. The funeral will be held Monday at 11 o’clock from her late residence. Interment will follow at Hopewell.
Mrs Ida Correll wife of Revenue Commissioner J E Correll slipped on a step at her south Main street residence yesterday morning and severely sprained her left foot, causing considerable pain.
