The Winchester Presbytery met in special session at noon in the Presbyterian Church. Rev. D. H. Scanlon presided in the absence of Rev. A. C. Hopkins. The body granted the dismissal of Rev. J. J. A parrot owned by Mr. Fred A. Gratchen drew a crowd on south Market Street near 1 pm when a cracker prompt and a sing song led Polly to escape her cage. After a street‑side exchange with the crowd she climbed a tree and chatted until a boy climbed up and recaptured her. Harmer and Conner advertise beer at 135 North Main Street.

Horses Killed On The Railroad Near Summit Point
A Baltimore and Ohio accommodation train narrowly avoided wreck near Summit Point West Virginia as five horses stepped onto the track. Three horses were killed instantly when struck by the speeding locomotive, with gruesome scenes along the rails. Passengers were alarmed as the train halted after the accident, delaying service only fifteen minutes. The horses belonged to W. H. Baldwin of near Summit Point. Engineer Stevens described the night as unusually dark.

Impromptu Musical Recital at Seal Residence
Friends of Mr and Mrs Louis Seal hosted an impromptu recital by Rudolph Borgester of Washington DC who visited with his wife. Aged Lady Dies At Stone Bridge
After a lingering illness Mrs. Ann Green died at her Stone Bridge home in Clarke county at age seventy six. She was formerly Miss Mitchell and widow of Dr. James A Green. She leaves three children Messia Casper and Jas A Green and Miss Laura Green. She was aunt to Mr J F Sowers. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 11 from her former home with Rev Shepard officiating and interment in Rockland Cemetery.
