Sarah Zane Fire Company Holds September Meeting
The Sarah Zane Fire Company met last night with Capt. Evans absent. Lieut. Brown presided and J. Sibert acted as secretary. They invited Berryville Fire Department to a bazar and yard party and formed a committee to gauge attendance. A committee was also named to evaluate purchasing a new fire horse.

Organ Recital Draws Music Lovers at Christ Church
The Christ Episcopal Church organ recital last night drew a good crowd though seats were not full. Directed by Dr. John P. Campbell of Athens Georgia the program featured finely executed organ pieces. Assisted by Miss Lillian Brent Bowen Bowen offered several vocal selections with a superb soprano voice.

Yard Party Resumes With Mixed Turnout At Knitting Factory Lawn

Prof J W Neff announces Valley Business College starts its second year on Monday September 8. The school adopts the Sadler and Rowe book keeping system and the Ben Pitman shorthand. Courses run about eight months with a motto of perfection and emphasis on high quality instruction.

Found Father's Terrapin in Virginia Woods
Mr. T. B. Fleet found three land terrapins in Mr. Josiah Stickley's woods near Strasburg Virginia on Tuesday. Two were marked with legible initials G. T. L. and L. D. F. and the date 1854. The marks reference his father and the late George Long who died thirty nine years ago.

Hodgson Moves Two Large Boilers to Moorefield Tannery

Charles Clark Stricken With Severe Stroke at Home
Charles Clark, a respected city resident and Civil War veteran, suffered a paralytic stroke at his East Germain Street home. Verdict for Berryville Land Company Dispute
