Fries Loses 500 Dollars Worth of Wheat in Clarke County Fire
The Fries farm near Berryville suffered a fire Monday night destroying 500 dollars worth of wheat. The blaze origin is unknown. This is the fifth wheat stack burned in Clarke County this fall and other crops valued from 500 to 2000 dollars have been burned. Fries had no insurance.

Charles Selden Jr secretary of the Hotel Jack Company sought a receiver for the New Carrollton Hotel at St. Paul Street and Bank Lane Baltimore with Charles Armstrong named to assist. Judge Niles approved the receivership bond set at 10000 dollars. The suit by Chas P Jack cites insufficient funds to cover current expenses.
