Byrd Predicts Equal Suffrage Victory in Virginia

Richard Evelyn Byrd spoke at a Richmond Hotel dinner hosted by the Equal Suffrage League of Virginia predicting the 1916 General Assembly will pass the proposed equal suffrage amendment. Hill Montague echoed hopes for cross party support in 1916 platforms. Byrd said Virginia’s existing gender equality would allow suffrage without major disruption. J. H.
