She urges eating raw onions, a clear conscience, hard work, avoidance of rich food, mental ease, and fear of God, and comments that modern women’s clothing is too frivolous.
Miss Kate Turner testified again in the trial of E Graham Wilson charged with criminal assault. She described being invited to view cattle on a remote farm area and alleged force in the act. Medical examiners corroborated bruises and related witnesses included her sister, an aunt, and physicians. The court adjourned with further testimony expected, possibly Saturday or Monday.
Oxford England November 21 Nearly destroyed by fire caused by suffragettes a lumber yard burned with a quarter million dollar loss. Heroic fireman work prevented wider ruin while placards reading Votes for Weren lay among the ruins and militants wrecked the anti suffragette headquarters in this city.

Deputy United States Marshal John D P Rogers of Staunton spent yesterday in Winchester and Frederick county delivering subpoenas for the December term of the United States Court for the Western District of Virginia to be held early next month in Harrisonburg before Judge Henry Clay McDowell. Daniel Collins, with many aliases, is charged with being involved in the post office and Cumberland Valley Railroad station robbery at Chlesbrook in September 1910. Collins, released from a Philadelphia penitentiary after a Broad Street Station robbery, is described as a leading safecracker and burglar with multiple imprisonments in various jails and penitentaries.
Several ducal insurance and property cases were decided by the Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals. In Edward B. Jacobs vs Arthur L. Warthen, a jury verdict for Warthen was affirmed. In Loudoun Mutual vs Harriet Turner, the Clarke county dwelling loss claim was reversed due to lien and notice issues. The cases emphasize disclosure of liens and notice sufficiency in premium payments.

Rebecca Shanholtz widow of George Shanholtz of Gore Frederick county died yesterday at her daughter Lena Hill’s Highland Avenue home after a lingering illness at about 76. She leaves three sons J W and Asa Shanholtz and Clark G Purtlebaugh and two daughters Callie Foreman and Lena Hill. Funeral held at Mrs Hill’s home by Rev L A Racey then burial at Roberts graveyard.
R F Lee a typewriter mechanic and Miss Alice Jamison of Cumberland Md were married Wednesday evening at the United Brethren parsonage in Harrisonburg by Rev Randolph Rocks. The bride resigned her position, they spent a week at Hotel Evans Winchester, then return to Harrisonburg. Lee is a Petersburg native now based in New York City. the couple renewed an acquaintance formed two years ago. The millinery season continues, yet preparations for the wedding proceeded.

Pittaluri gh Pa November 21. Policemen Kennelly and Lavery found guilty of enticing two 17 year old girls Katharine Byrnes and Anna Butler into a disorderly resort and of felony related to the girls death. The trial revealed the girls drank bichloride of mercury after fearing scandal.
The Atlantic Macaroni Company's factory in Long Island City burned destroying the plant. About 30 men and women were injured as workers stampeded escaping the flames and many were knocked down in the rush to safety.

The funeral of Daniel Feltner, a well known eastern county resident, who died from Brights disease Tuesday at his Burnt Factory home, was held this morning at the United Brethren Church in Red Bud. Rev. George W. Stover of Winchester officiated. The casket was then taken to Mount Hebron Cemetery for interment amid a large turnout of neighbors and friends.
Supt. G. T. Brooke of the Shenandoah division of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad spent several days inspecting the Harrisonburg to Lexington stretch of the division. He reviewed track, stations, and operations as part of routine oversight.
Prosecuting Attorney Herbert Larrick said Buford Powell a 15 year old colored boy would not have a preliminary hearing before next week. Powell is jailed on a murder charge in the death of Roy Dunn son of Mr and Mrs William Duty of Rest. The boy’s father Hiram Powell has engaged a lawyer. Funeral plans for Dann were announced with services by Rev F A Strother. Neighbors describe Buford Powell as bright, not dull, though with a pugnacious disposition and prior fights with white youths. Powell’s case stirs Rest County as authorities review the shooting in Mrs Baldwin’s field and transfer to Green Hill.
