Daniel Heiston, 18 years a Martinsburg resident and partner in W. H. Heiston and Son, died Saturday after months with Brights disease. Fletcher Case in Court of Appeals Opens in Virginia

The November term of the Virginia Court of Appeals opened in Richmond with five judges considering two Warren County local option cases, Byrd Fletcher vs. The Commonwealth and Elwell Rose vs. The Commonwealth. The new steel cell installation in the Woodstock jail for Shenandoah County nears completion. The brick structure with stone trim, two stories high, cost between 13000 and 14000 dollars and will likely be turned over to the Board of Supervisors soon.

Wheat and Threshing Machine Burned Up at Castleman's Ferry

Fire destroyed five hundred bushels of wheat and a threshing machine on Webb Baldwin's farm at Castleman's Ferry in Clarke County. The blaze started from sparks from the threshing engine while workers were at dinner. no one was nearby. Mr. Baldwin owned the wheat and Mr. Sowers owned the machine.
