Doctor Samuel Cohen known as the itin erant eye glass vender was convicted of grand larceny in Leesburg and sentenced to ten years in the peniten tiary. He hired a livery team from Bluemont Loudoun county and sold it for personal gain. He evaded capture for four months before being arrested at Emperor near the Carolina state line.

Sparks Set Fire To Peery Home In Bliss Virginia
Sparks from a chimney set the roof of Mrs. Victoria Peery's house ablaze last Saturday evening in Bliss Virginia. Neighbors formed a bucket brigade and extinguished the fire with very slight damage as there was no insurance on the property. Special reformation services were held at St. Pauls Lutheran Church and local residents noted Halloween celebrations. Mr Henry Womeldorph is confined at home with grip. Charles W Snapp returned from Washington and Milton Snapp came back from Cedar Creek.
