Mrs C L Potter wife of Rev Mr Potter of the Southern Methodist Church was thrown from a buggy last Sunday and badly injured. She has been at George Branner’s near Relief and is slowly recovering with a broken left ankle and bruises. Local news notes her improvement.

Cumberland Valley Railroad reorganizes leadership in Washington
George W. Martin resigns as superintendent of the Cumberland Valley Railroad and is replaced as superintendent of terminals in Washington by J. H. Tonge. Tonge is succeeded as freight trainmaster by T. B. Kennedy, with H. A. Logue taking on additional duties including electric signals and telegraph and telephone matters. The changes take effect November 1 and reflect Martin's four years of service and the large Washington terminal project. Martin’s new salary is reported at $6,000 annually.

Assault Victim in Critical Condition After Night Attack
Jacob Armentrout a young Keezletown man lies unconscious at his father's home following an assault Tuesday night near Harrisonburg. He says assailants William H Sheetz and Ike Winn ordered him to run and struck him with a heavy blunt instrument. A skull fracture required brain clot removal surgery and doctors report little hope for recovery.

Mrs. Granberry wife of Bishop John C. Granberry of the Methodist Episcopal Church South died suddenly at her Ashland Virginia home yesterday at 11 o clock. She was seventy. Survived by husband two sons Rev J C Granberry of the Virginia Conference and Winston Granberry in the Philippine Islands and one daughter Mrs Tucker of Brazil visiting Ashland. She was described as a lovely Christian and active church worker.
