Firemen's Union Opposes Town Aid Plan Conflict with Railroad
Delegates at the Cumberland Valley Firemen's Union meeting in Chambersburg protested a neighboring town aid plan. They argued the V. Railroad would not recognize fire department badges and require an emergency corps of twelve men from each company for out of town fires. The plan was debated, a conference committee was proposed then withdrawn, and action was postponed to the next meeting.
