Knights Observe Ascension Day at Christ Church
Winchester Commandery No. 12 Knights Templar held Ascension Day services at Christ Episcopal Church in Rouss City. A large crowd gathered as 33 uniformed knights led by Eminent Commander A. M. Baker marched from City Hall to the church, with floral decorations by C. E. Aulick and an elaborate program conducted by Rev. Dr. John P. Hyde and Mrs. A. M. Baker. Dr. Cox delivered a scholarly address on The Knighthood of Maguiry, stressing Christian ethics and the defense of woman.

Family narrowly escapes death as house burns near Summit Point
A fire of incendiary origin destroyed a home one mile east of Summit Point West Virginia. Mr John White his wife and an adopted son fled in night clothes with no time to dress. The fire destroyed the barn and all contents. loss estimated at 500 dollars with 200 dollars insured.

Monster Reptile Killed Near Town After Hedge Jump
Report from Chambersville details the demise of a monster black snake blamed for raids on farms near Winchester. The creature, feared for years, allegedly leaped a hedge and was killed by three teamsters who attacked it as it crossed the road. The reptile measured about twenty feet long.
