Paper Makers Testimony on Paper Prices and Free List
At a congressional committee hearing General Agnus and John Norris of New York testified on print paper costs. Norris described a price rise from 1.90 to 2.50 per hundred pounds with International Paper, noting two-year 1906 1907 terms and yearly 56 000 tons purchases. Agnus claimed a Stevens bill would lower prices if wood pulp and print paper were on the free list, citing Mr Walter as confirming cheaper paper without duty.
