Runaway buggy crash injures Bursey siblings near Front Royal
A runaway accident on the Front Royal road near Winchester left Mr Charles Bursey and his sister Miss Annie Bursey badly hurt. The pair, returning from Winchester in a buggy, were jolted when the horse bolted after losing the bridle. Mr Bursey recovered the head of the horse but was knocked down. Miss Annie Bursey suffered severe facial and head injuries and was carried to Mr Crozen’s home with a serious condition after the buggy was run over.

Civil War ruin shadows obituary of John Reed
John Reed aged invalid died this morning at the residence of Edward Grim on east Germain street after a paralytic stroke. Born in Winchester he learned cabinet making, ran a Knoxville business with his father before the war, served in Bragg's division, later moved to a Kernstown farm until recently. Funeral arrangements await final details at his niece Mrs. P. H. Reardon’s home on Main Street.
