Funeral Arrangements For John O Neil Confederate Veteran
Funeral services for John O Neil a county resident and former Newtown Artillery member who died in the county on Sunday will be held at the Mortuary Chapel tomorrow afternoon at 4 oclock. Burial will be in Stonewall Cemetery with many Ashby Camp members expected. O Neil aged about 63 was born in Stephenson June 18 1844 and served four years in the Confederacy. He asked Captain George W Kurtz to bury him in Stonewall Cemetery which he will be. His body was brought to Captain Kurtz undertakers today for preparation and burial.

Entertaining Evening Hosts Misses Hammond Guests
Miss Emma Russell entertained about fifty guests at her Amherst street home last Friday in a tea honoring Misses Bessie and Ella Hammond of Richmond. Refreshments were served and the event drew praise for its charm. Major Fred Osborne of Indianola, leader of the cadets from Indianola Military Academy, visited town with cousins Mrs. Dunlap and Mr. Baker and praised the cadets’ Jamestown parade appearance.

Miss Sarah A. P. Mayers Dies in Winchester Sunday
Miss Sarah A. P. Mayers of Winchester died Sunday morning after a brief illness at the home of Mrs. Mary Calmes on North Market Street. She was born in Clarke county daughter of the late John Mayers and leaves a sister Mrs. Benjamin D. Fleming of Fairmont and a brother G. F. Mayers of Stephens City. A longtime member of the First Baptist Church, she supported church and charity and helped fund the new parsonage. Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Calmes home conducted by Rev. EB Northen, with burial at Stone's Chapel in Clarke county. Carriages will await mourners.

Winchester Baseball Team on Excursion to Richmond and Norfolk

They will play three games with the Richmond Brownies and three with the Norfolk Collegians, amid Jamestown Exposition sightseeing.
