Four men arrested by Deputy Sheriff Raymondson were released as authorities pursue locals as prime suspects. The theft yielded about 120 in checks 90 in cash and postage stamps. one ledger missing suggests local thieves may be involved. Detectives vow a full investigation and aim to identify the robbers.

After Taft vetoed the army bill, doubt arises whether eastern state militiamen will join the encampment with regulars at Mount Gretna Pa next month. An officer says the matter is up in the air and depends on Congress passing and the President approving a new bill within two weeks. A second officer believes militiamen may march to Mount Gretna in late July.
Harrisonburg society was out in full force at the first of a series of summer dances in Peacock Alley. Out-of-town guests included Miss Vera Lynch and Mr Hugh Duffey. The hall was decorated with flowers, a band played, and a buffet supper was served.
