The marriage of Miss Peach Ey, daughter of Mrs. Tucy F. Ri formerly of Millwood, to Rev. Lee Ritchie of Virginia, took place June 7 at Gunton Temple Memorial Church Washington. Rev. C B Granger officiated assisted by Rev. John T. Hyde. Relatives and friends attended including bridesmaids Miss Lucie Moss Mauda Yount and others. The ceremony featured organ music, solo by Miss Emma Houchen, and a reception at the bride's Corcoran Street home before the couple's planned northern wedding trip. They will reside at Burkes Garden Va after July 4.

Whitacre Virginia June 12 Mr B F Keller and his son in law Dora 8 Miller faced a runaway when the brake on their wagon failed on a steep descent. Miller leapt clear grabbing a tree to escape and Keller jumped free as the wagon struck a tree and the horses tangled.

Lightning kills 16 year old Fries plowing field near Winchester
John Boyd Fries aged 16 was struck and killed by lightning while plowing corn on his uncle G Hunter Yeakley’s farm near Welltown, several miles north of Winchester. His horse also died. The incident occurred after dinner on Saturday as dark clouds moved overhead. Witnesses Mr Yeakley and his son found Fries dead with no movement, noting burned hair and black and blue skin. Funeral arrangements followed at Jubilee, with Fries remembered as a popular church member and friend of Rev Roy Schmucker. He was survived by his mother Mrs Mildred Fries, four brothers and two sisters.

William Heflin Dies in Winchester at 66
William Heflin longtime Winchester resident dies after a lengthy illness aged 66. He came to the city 16 years ago from Warren County Virginia and leaves a widow Fannie Heflin and five daughters. Surviving siblings include brother Arthur Heflin of Linden Virginia. Remains to be moved to Front Royal for burial on Wednesday.

Ridgeway West Virginia June 12 A funeral service was held at Pleasant Valley Church for Mr Yeakley with pallbearers six cousins. Remains interred at Old Stone Church Greenspring. Intelligence comes from Winchester of the death in Scranton Pennsylvania of Alfred Poor aged 65 after a long illness of Brights disease. He was born in Baltimore educated in private schools and worked as a soliciting agent for the Old Bay Line before moving to Scranton five years ago.
