Two Boys Run Over by Touring Car in Berryville
Theo dore Grim and Rus sel Haymaker, both boys from Berryville, were struck by a slowly moving touring car on the Berryville turnpike between Winchester and the Opequon. The accident caused multiple injuries but the boys survived. Isaac Hecht of Baltimore owned the car and arranged hospital care. Doctors said the boys were improving with about fifty bones broken in total.

Rules for Traction Engines on the Northwestern Pike
At a July 25 1914 meeting of the Northwestern Turnpike Board of Managers the State Corporation Commission adopted an order restricting use of the turnpike by traction engines pulling one or more vehicles with total loads over two tons. The rule takes effect August 1 1914 and exempts farm machinery drawing only their own weight plus resting machines hay balers.

Paralysis Fatal To Capt. Jordan At Wardensville
