Winchester man injured in porch construction fall
Mr William J Marple, a Winchester resident and employee of Mr Pred L Glaize, fell 18 to 20 feet from a ladder on the Fairfax Club porch on North Braddock street. He is in Memorial Hospital in a semi conscious state with serious head injuries and shock. His physician cannot yet determine the full extent of injuries.

Thunderstorm Destroys Barns and Kills Livestock in Frederick County
A fierce electrical storm struck Frederick County and Winchester with continuous lightning and heavy thunder. Damage included unroofed barns a mule struck dead and two cows killed by lightning in local farms while orchards suffered heavy losses. Towns reports limited structural damage and several lights out. Weather caused high winds toppling limbs and splitting a large maple on North Braddock Street. Farmers called it the worst lightning storm in years.
